Abstract:

Domain Driven Design (DDD) has been around for over 10 years now. It is getting more and more attention in the development community, mainly driven by the trend towards distributed systems in general and Microservices in particular.

This talk shows the motivation behind DDD and the problems it addresses by presenting the most relevant patterns. It also highlights the role DDD plays in a distributed SOA based environment.

Speaker: Karl Wannenmacher, Vienna

Karl Wannenmacher has been working for Frequentis for over 10 years. He started as a Senior Software Developer and gradually transitioned into the role of a Software Architect. Since 2013 he has been leading the design and implementation of a large scale SOA and DDD based solution for the Public Safety domain (mission critical control center solutions for 112 emergency call taking and dispatching of police, fire and rescue teams).
